Care Instructions

Your Pilqo garments are designed to combine style and durability, but to enjoy them for a long time, proper care is essential. Depending on the type of print or embroidery, washing instructions may vary, so we have prepared detailed instructions to help you keep your favourite garments in the best shape.

General care instructions for Pilqo garments:

Washing:

  • First wash: Always wash garments before wearing them for the first time to remove any remaining ink from the print and to soften the fabric.
  • Temperature: Washing in cold water (max. 30°C) helps to maintain the intensity of the colours and prevents the material from shrinking.
  • Wash cycle: Use a gentle wash cycle, especially if the garment has prints or embroidery.

Drying:

  • Tumble Dry (Gentle): You can tumble dry on a gentle setting to maintain the shape and colour of the material, however please note that excessive heat can accelerate the wear of prints and embroidery. It is recommended to use the lowest possible temperature.
  • Dry Flat: To maintain the shape and colour of the garment, it is best to dry it flat or on a hanger, avoiding direct sunlight.
  • Avoid High Heat: Try to avoid tumble drying garments, especially on a high heat setting, to prevent shrinkage and weakening of the print.
  • Do Not Hang Hot: Do not hang garments directly on a hot radiator or dry in full sunlight to avoid fading colours.

Ironing:

  • Embroidered garments: If your Pilqo garments have embroidery, iron them on the outside on a low temperature, through a thin cloth or greaseproof paper. Avoid ironing directly on the embroidery.
  • Prints: Prints can be damaged by too high temperatures. If you have to iron, iron the garment inside out (inside out), using a low temperature and ironing through a thin fabric.
  • General ironing rules: We recommend ironing at a maximum temperature of 110°C.

Storage:

  • Avoid plastic covers: Let the material breathe - avoid storing clothes in plastic bags for long periods of time. It is best to use cotton covers or store clothes in a dry place to prevent moisture build-up.
  • Hangers: Store clothes on wide hangers to avoid deformation of the material, especially in the case of loose-fitting garments.

Types of prints and special care:

1. DTG (Direct to Garment) prints:

  • Instructions: These prints are resistant to repeated washing, but require caution when ironing. Never iron directly onto the print.
  • Tips: To maintain the durability of the print, wash the garment inside out and avoid washing in hot water.

2. Sublimation Prints:

  • Instructions: Sublimation prints are more durable, but care must be taken when drying. Avoid tumble drying, as this can cause the colours to lose their intensity.
  • Tips: Always wash the garment inside out to maintain the intensity of the colours.

3. Embroidery:

  • Instructions: Embroidery is extremely durable, but special care must be taken when ironing. Iron through a thin fabric to avoid damaging it.
  • Tips: After each wash, check the embroidery for any signs of damage. If necessary, gently wipe it with a damp cloth.

Additional tips:

  • Always read the labels: Before washing, read the care label on the garment, as it may contain specific recommendations for the material.
  • Protection against dust and dirt: To keep your clothes clean, especially when not in use, store them in protective cotton bags.

Your Pilqo clothes are made to last. Take care of them – just like you take care of your style.
